Adult Education Lead Praxis Prep
Program Development for Indiana Praxis Prep for Internationally Trained Educators
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Teacher to spearhead the development and delivery of a comprehensive Indiana Praxis Prep program for internationally trained professional educators. This role combines leadership, curriculum design, program management, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders. The Lead Teacher will ensure that program participants are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to achieve success on the Praxis exam (subject and core) and meet Indiana DOE eligibility requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Administration:
- Indiana DOE Admission and Eligibility:
- Guide candidates through the process of submitting required documents for admission and eligibility with the Indiana Department of Education (DOE).
- Ensure timely verification and compliance with state education standards.
- Curriculum Development:
- Design and oversee a tailored Praxis preparation curriculum addressing key content areas, pedagogy, and test-taking strategies.
- Adapt instructional materials to meet the needs of adult learners with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Tutor Engagement:
- Identify, recruit, and onboard subject matter expert (SME) tutors to deliver specialized instruction in Praxis content areas.
- Collaborate with tutors to align teaching methods and resources with program objectives.
Human Resources and Communication:
- HR and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Coordinate with HR to recruit, train, and support program staff and tutors.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including participants, instructors, and administrative teams.
- Classroom Oversight:
- Monitor classroom performance and participant progress, ensuring a supportive and high-quality learning environment.
- Implement formative and summative assessments to track and enhance outcomes.
Logistics and Operations:
- Testing Coordination:
- Facilitate the scheduling of Praxis exams for participants, ensuring all eligibility and registration requirements are met.
- Provide guidance on test centers, deadlines, and exam-day procedures.
- Program Evaluation:
- Collect feedback from participants and staff to evaluate program effectiveness and implement continuous improvements.
- Produce periodic reports on participant progress, program outcomes, and operational challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience in program development and management, especially in education or training for adult learners.
- Familiarity with Indiana DOE requirements and Praxis exam structure.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on cultural competency.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with internationally trained professionals or multilingual learners.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and assessment strategies.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for curriculum delivery and program management.
