Job Description and Expectations
Reporting Structure:
The Career Training (CT) Life Coach reports to the CT Program and Employment Supervisor of the Wayne Township Adult Education Program.
Performance Agreement:
The Wayne Township Adult Education (WTAE) CT Life Coach will perform all aspects of the communicated job description. This employee will effectively meet the contractual and performance expectations of the MSD of Wayne Township. Formal performance evaluation will be conducted in June and December of each year.
PURPOSE: To provide coaching, counseling, academic remediation, employability, and career services that will support student goals and expected outcomes.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with orientation to ensure student supplies and books and placed in the assigned classroom and distributed by the instructional staff
- Monitors and reports attendance and professional behaviors for assigned classes and students and enforcing the three step procedure to careertraining@wayne.k12.in.us by the next class period
- Tracking classroom education progress and provide tutoring supports to keep students on track for completion
- First day class the life coach teams with the instruction staff to overview the student powerpoint that reviews safety procedures, attendance, rules and expectations, professionalism rubric, syllabus, classroom expectations, job placement forms, career services, and if applicable externship portal information;
- Plans and implements the WIN courseware curriculum and provides supports to students to complete the certification test with a 100-90% target;
- Utilize the weekly labs to ensure math competency during weeks 12 and 13 building strength for the certification test;
- Provides Supportive Services Vouchers and life coaching flyers to broker the resources to students in need
- Coordinates with Employer Supervisor to recruit and host 3-4 employers to participate in the Partnership Day the last day before fall and spring break each semester
- Train and outfits the Student Ambassadors to be able to over the program, introduce themselves, review skills, and provide tours at their school;
- Tracking performance outcomes for current and past students to ensure the capture in Table 4 by emailing careertraining@wayne.k12.in.us.
- Ensures all students have a competitive resume by week 4 and assists with interview preparation by week 10.
- Provide individual Career Connection appointments to support students
- Tracks student employment goals via the Student Job Log by ensuring a minimum of 7 job applications by week 15 & 16.
- Compares INTERS and TABLE 4 to ensure accuracy of student names, tests scores, etc. and communicates any discrepancies immediately to the Data and Treasurer’s offices.
- Works to meet the program goals of: 95% completion, 90% certification, and 60% employment.
- Positively represents and promotes WTAE in the community at large.
- Monitors Wayne emails and weekly updates from CT Program Supervisor.
- Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the CT Program and Employer Supervisor.
